Can you believe it is Christmas Eve already? I am not ready. I still have to take one child shopping for his older brother. Plus pick up some groceries (what fun). I was planning on getting a cell phone (prepaid) so the boys can call dad but I don't l]ike any of the deals. So.... I am thinking I will get a phone card instead and let them call him from the house phone.
I need to get moving and go do the last minute things I have to do but to be honest I really don't want to. I have been busy trying to upload videos and photos on to my photobucket and I have a few more to go. SO.. maybe I will get done soon then I can go shopping.
The Volusia County Fair
Normally I do not do fairs. Just a personal thing but thanks to Joel I took the boys. Actually we ended up going with all our family. We do not do rides but we enjoyed eating food, seeing the animals and watching a tiger show. I didn't get to many pictures but the boys had fun and I lived through it, lol.
Ponce Inlet Homeschool Day
Doors Open
Why is it that as soon as you go to take that one step which leads you down the path the Lord is taking you He changes it? Well, at least it feels that way. So many times I struggle with where He wants me to be, the direction He is taking me... And always once I finally get the courage to move it all changes and no longer am I to move in that direction. I know I am talking in circles.
I have been struggling with our Wed. night kid program at church. To be honest there is not much of one, it is more like babysitting. I stepped in to help with it (do it) about a month ago. After starting to get my feet wet and trying to implement a little bit more structure it felt like I was being tossed aside. So I was about to move on, my children were not being fed and my hands were tied. At that moment though the doors open and now there looks like there will be a change. My hands are being untied. So now I have to come up with some what of a "proposal" I should say explaining what I would like to do with the kids on Wed. night.

He took a nap!
My dear son, Peanut (aka Isaac) has been on strike when it comes to sleeping. His strike has lasted a month. Don't get me wrong he sleeps in my DH arms (before he left) but if we lay him down in bed he wakes up within 10 minutes. Nightime has been almost as bad, he is up every 90 minutes. But today he actually took a nap, a real honest nap. He got up this morning and we did his normal morning routine but this time I fed him lunch at 11:00. He gobbled it up (which is unusual in itself) and by 11:30 he was asleep. He slept until 2. I had to go check on him quite a few times, lol. What is more amazing my dear Peanut who has been staying up until 9 ate all his dinner at 5, snacked on our dinner at 6 and took 1/2 a bottle at 7. Then fell asleep at 7:30. Maybe there is hope of a schedule in our near future.
Wow!
1 1/2 months to go
I can not wait! We are going to FL for a few months while Joel is in school. We went ahead and turned off our house phone (so yes I do not have internet) because our phone was always staticy, didn't have a dial tone half the time and my dial up connection was 4.9 kb not worth my time or money since we can't use it. So I am back to the library for checking my email or Micky D's to blog, lol. Oh well. It is only for a little while :-) Next week when I come up I will make sure I have some photo's to post. Until then - have a great day!

Planning the Nursery
Isaac is sleeping in our room for the time being in his playpen/bassinet. It is just so much easier that way with him being little. However, I am planning his bedroom only problem is I am not sure where his bedroom will be, lol. We originally thought he could be upstairs but there are a few issues with that. Mainly being there is no heat in that room and well it is upstairs. So I have been thinking of putting him in the other room downstairs which is currently suppose to be an office/sewing room. Problem it is holding desks and items which we can not put upstairs and have no place for in the rest of the house. So I am at a lost and for now his nursery is being put together on a piece of paper.
What I am planning on doing though is have it set up Montessori style. Meaning it will be very simplistic. He will have a floor bed (we are not going to use a crib), an infant shelf which Joel is going to build him, a dresser, diaper changing area and possibly a chair with a small end table. We are planning on getting a mirror to place by his bed and the boys and I have made a couple of mobiles which he can look at. For now the mobiles are hanging in the living room. I will post a couple of pictures of them soon. They turned out really good for being homemade :-)
Poor Isaac... he won't have it made like his brothers. Being older and having a teacher mindset in some areas. What I know now that I didn't know when his brothers were tiny. We have decided not to buy him all the flashy, lights and action things. No swing, no excersaucer, no walker, no containment. Although we do have a little infant rocker we use and a johnny jumper we will use when he gets bigger. But other than that we also are not buying him a bunch of toys or at least not the ones you see in the local Wal-Mart. Instead we have decided to buy some age appropriate Montessori materials/toys and things which are fun but makes him use his imagination. I am sure occasionaly something on my no list will slip in especially with 2 older brothers but that will only be once in a while.
Anyways, Isaac is calling so until next time.
Love you!

What We are Up To...
School - The boys have been chugging along in their school work. They finished their English book and are now starting on English & Reading 4. Xavier and Micah have both informed me they are not in 4th grade, lol. Silly kids, don't they know that it doesn't matter the grade of the book if they can do the work? Micah is learning his multiplication facts and Xavier has been rounding numbers lately. We are fixing to start reading about the "Wild, Wild West". Which should be a fun unit study. Meanwhile in Science they both have a science book they are reading although their quest to know about every animal out there is still underway.
Homelife - We are still trying to declutter our house. What I thought would take a few days maybe a week is taking a little longer. A month has gone by since we started the task of cleaning out our junk and we are nowhere near finished. It seems that I just don't have enough time to do it and everything else I am suppose to do each day, lol. Unfortunately at this rate I won't be done until next Christmas but I am hoping maybe, just possibly I will be finished by the end of February.
Joel is still recruiting and working God awful hours. With his long hours and the weather being so frigid the boys and I tend to get cabin fever and miss him greatly. Yet, we long to go south for the winter... actually let me be honest I am fed up with it here and about to leave for warmer temps. Yes, I understand it has not been warm "back home" but it is warmer than here.
Baby News - Isaac keeps growing and growing. On Jan. 19th he weighed 8 lb. 12 oz. needless to say he eats pretty well, lol. He is a little demanding and has been fussy the past couple of days. Today he has been a lot better though so maybe it has to do with the 6 week growth spurt. I can not believe he is almost 6 weeks... well he will be next Saturday. I will post more about what I am up to with him soon.
My Boys - Micah and Xavier have almost finished their Pinewood Derby Cars. They only need to glue on their weights and put on the wheels now. The derby is at the end of Feb. (I think). They have both completed their trail (Micah - Bear trail & Xavier - Wolf trail) so now they are working on getting Arrow Points. Micah has completed enough for the gold arrow point and Xavier has a couple more to go and then he will have his gold one to.

A New Look
We have a new look here for the time being not sure how long this "skin" will last, lol. Things here are moving along at an alarming rate (now for Joel to get orders at the same rate as Isaac is growing, lol).
Love you!

Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year!!! We will be posting on a regular basis again starting in Feb. Right now we are changing the way the blogs look and Micah and Xavier are planning their blogs out. Micah wants to have a cooking blog and Xavier is still undecided. Anyways... Isaac is calling so until later.
